Automated Sludge Sewage Treatment Plant
Sci-tech Automated Sludge Sewage Treatment Plant ENV 004 activated sludge sewage treatment pilot plant is a small scale industrial sewage plant. It consists of all the comprehensive components and advance process control instrument to make the trainer more interesting on study.
All the tank, components, instrumentation are mounted on mobile workbench with caster roller. The bench is made of stainless steel frame. Table top is made of durable ABS plastic material which can withstand the wet and chemical resistance.
Cyclone Separation Trainer
Sci-tech Cyclonic Separation Trainer Model ENV 001 is a method of removing particulates from an air stream through a vortex separation process. A high speed forced vortex rotating air flow is established within a cylinder called a cyclone. Cyclones are used widely in saw mills to remove saw dust from extracted air as well as oil refineries to separate oils and gases. This Cyclone Separation Trainer is used for demonstrating the basics of cyclonic vortex separation. The apparatus comprises of four main cyclones of different diameters, a dust feed system and an air supply blower. A venturi type flow meter is provided to measure the incoming air flow rates.
Deep Filter Bed Column
Sci-tech Deep Bed Filter Column Model ENV 002 is designed to study the characteristics of a filter column. It consists of an acrylic unit with flanged end pieces to allow easy access. It consists of a column filled with Ballotini packing to ensure the good water distribution. Slotted pressure tapings are mounted on the column for measuring the pressure drop across the bed per unit length and staggered over an approximate 0.8 m depth. These tapings are connected to a differential manometer. These tapings can also be used for drawing the samples from the column and change in concentration of the suspension can be determined.
Electrostatic Precipitator Trainer
Sci-tech Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) Trainer Model ENV 003 uses the induced electrostatic charge to remove the particles from the flow air stream. This system is designed to give the students an understanding of the electrostatic precipitator system. The apparatus comprises of a laboratory scale electrostatic precipitator unit, dust feeding system and a digital weighing meter. A venturi type flow meter is provided to measure the incoming air flow rates.
Filterability Index Unit
Sci-tech Filterability Index Unit Model ENV 005 is demonstrating the filtering process through a porous media. It enables a water quality test to be made on a suspension to be filtered through sand or similar granular media. This unit utilizes a bed of granular material, normally sand, which can be chosen by the student to suit his own purposes. The measurements taken with this unit enable a filterability index to be calculated which has significance in deep bed filter performance.
Hydrological Cycle Apparatus
Sci-tech Hydrological Cycle Apparatus Model ENV 006 facilitates a wide range of experiments on hydrology. It enables students to study the principles of catchment rainfall and runoff as functions of time, to simulate multiple and moving storm, to examine the interaction of adjacent wells and lots more. The experiments are performed in a rectangular stainless steel tank filled with a granular medium, where a permeable catchment area has been formed. The inclination of the catchment is simulated by providing inclination of the catchment using stainless steel sloping system.
Marine Engineering : Water Tunnel
Sci-tech Water Tunnel Model ENV 007 is an important facility used to study flow around submerged bodies. Although it has wide applications, it is primarily used to measure drag on submerged bodies, flow visualization, and conduct tests on propellers and cavitations studies. Water Tunnel is an important facility for the marine, ocean, navel architecture, civil, hydraulic, and mechanical and aerospace engineering laboratories of educational institutions.
Pulsed-Jet Bag Filtration Trainer System
Sci-tech Pulsed – Jet Filtration Training System Model ENV 008 has been designed for demonstrating dust pollution control using a fabric filter and for investigating the effects of varying total filtration area on filtering efficiency. In addition, students can study the effects of varying gas-to-cloth (G/C) ratio between pressure drop, ΔP and inlet velocity, vi.
The system comprises of a bag house, a pulse-jet cleaning system, a dust feeding system and a variable speed air blower. The bag house is divided into two sections: top and bottom. The top section is of stainless steel construct, connected to the compressed air tank to form part of the pulse-jet cleaning mechanism. The bottom section is made of rigid transparent polycarbonate with dust collector. Through this bottom section, students can view the filtering and cleaning operations of the bag filtering system.
Spray Chamber Trainer System
Sci-tech Spray Chamber Trainer System Model ENV 009 has been designed to demonstrate the spray chamber operations using five different spray nozzles, and for students to study the effects of droplet size on separation efficiency. Students can also investigate the effects of liquid-to-gas (L/G) ratio upon separation efficiency.
The system comprises of a spray (separation) chamber, a water circulation system, a dust feeding system and a variable speed air blower. The spray chamber is fabricated from rigid transparent acrylic measuring approximately 0.3m in diameter and 2m in height. The spray chamber can be fitted with five different spray nozzles to produce five different droplet sizes. The top of the spray chamber is equipped with a mist eliminator to prevent any water droplets from escaping. The water circulation system consists of a water tank, water pump, liquid flow meters, a pressure gauge and a pressure regulator.
Venturi Air Scrubber System
Sci-tech Venturi Air Scrubber System Model ENV 010 s used to demonstrate dust pollution control and the effect of liquid -to-gas ratio (L/G) on separation efficiency. The system comprises of a venturi tube, separation chamber, dust feeding system, water recirculation system and a variable speed air blower. The venturi tube is made of transparent and rigid plexi-glass for the observation of flow. A differential pressure transducer is used to measure pressure drop across the venturi. The cylindrical separation chamber is also made of transparent, rigid plexiglass with a diameter of 500 mm and height of 1.6 meter. At the side bottom of the separation chamber is a circular inlet which is connected to the outlet of the venturi. The chamber also houses a mist eliminator at the top which prevents water droplets from escaping the chamber.
Water Treatment/Conditioning Plant
Sci-tech Water Treatment & Conditioning Plant Model ENV 011 is designed to perform practical experiments of water conditioning. The realization of this equipment allows the treatment up to 170 litres of polluted water. The plant is very flexible and can be used for the treatment of water containing different kinds of pollutant substances.
The quantity of pollutant substances can vary within the values that are normally shown in the industrial wastewaters.
